Lomas del Volcan - Arenal Volcano Hotel

   This is a newer place to stay in Arenal and is fast becoming one of the more comfortable and beautiful places to stay. The hotel has great views of the green side (non active side, though this is always changing) of Arenal Volcano.

   The name of the hotel refers to the hump on a Brahmin cow, the "loma" in Spanish, or the name for the small hills where the hotel is built. These lomas are a very notable part of the topography of the hotel's grounds. Construction is not permitted on the volcano itself (duh), so the hotel is surrounded by jungle.

   Each of the older cabins is made of wood, with a large wooden balcony out back overlooking the nearby forest. Cabins have two double beds, private bath with hot water, air conditioning, ceiling fan and mini-bar. The rooms are comfortable; the hotel is tranquil with a pleasant atmosphere. The Cabins are spread out over the green grounds, surrounded by large trees. 

   The hotel is just 3.5 kilometers outside the town center of La Fortuna. The driveway of the hotel is long and winding, offering a great sense of privacy and distance from the worries of the outside world. 

   The restaurant has an experienced chef offering a varied menu covering breakfast to dinner. The new pool and Jacuzzi have excellent views of the volcano and are great locations to watch the sunset. The staff is friendly. In summary Lomas del Volcano is a nice hotel with a good vibe and great views of Arenal.
