Hot Springs in the Arenal Volcano area are one of the main attractions in the area and a visit to one of the hot springs in Costa Rica is a must!. A few years ago there were only one or two choices but this has grown over the last few years. Three of the major hot springs featured here are Tabacon Hot Springs, Baldi Hot Springs and The Springs Resort. All of which are great for relaxing and viewing the active Arenal Volcano and it's lava spewing eruptions when the volcano is visible.. Read below for details...

1.Tabacon Hot Springs: Arenal Volcano Costa Rica
The Tabacon Hot Springs, part of the Tabacon Spa & Resort, provide guests with a variety of different thermal pools set in a natural paradise. The intrinsic beauty of the surroundings, combined with the luxurious facilities, makes Tabacon the perfect place to relax and be pampered.
 
Facilities include restaurant, bar, full spa, landscaped gardens, water slide, changing rooms, pools and hot springs.
The springs vary in temperature from cool to 42º C.
Tabacon is a very popular spot. Both the springs and resort reach maximum occupancy during certain times of the year. There is no guarantee to access of the springs if you are not a guest. It is recommend that you make a reservation ahead of your visit to guarantee your entrance.
Admission for daytime visitors normally sells out well in advance during our high seasons: December 15th to April 30 and July 1st to August 31.
Hours: Open Noon to 10:00 pm daily.
Day Passes: 2010 Rates
Various 1 day packages are offered which allow you to spend time relaxing in the thermo-mineral springs. Note you cannot visit the hot springs without a meal package unless you are a guest of the resort.
Children 12 and older pay adult rates. 6-11 years old pay children rates and children under 5 years old go free.
Transport to La Fortuna is no longer included as a service to visitors of Tabacon Hot Springs, although staff at the entrance can call you a taxi..

1. Evening Pass with Dinner
$70 per adult / $35 per child (ages 6-11)
Evening pass option features a delicious dinner buffet. Available only after after 6 p.m., stay until closing time at 10:00 p.m. and enjoy four hours of paradise!
2 . Unlimited Pass with Lunch
$85 per adult / $40 per child (ages 6-11)
Come in early and complement your Tabacón experience with a delicious lunch. This package includes a three-course set menu with several delicious choices, as well as admission to our Spa & Thermal Resort from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
3 .Unlimited Pass with Dinner
$85 per adult / $40 per child (ages 6-11)
After a whole day of indulgent relaxation, spoil yourself with our succulent dinner buffet – a great opportunity to experience Tabacón’s renowned cuisine. Spa & Thermal Resort from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
4. Unlimited Pass with Lunch and Dinner
$95 per adult / $50 per child (ages 6-11)
Experience a full day at Tabacón. Enjoy an appetizing lunch followed by a full day of activities in the hot springs, the gardens and the Spa. The full dinner buffet is the perfect way to finish the day. If you wish to extend your stay at the Spa after dinner, the facilities are open until 10:00 p.m |

2. Baldi Hot Springs: Arenal Volcano Costa Rica
Baldi Hot Spings is located 4km from the town of La Fortuna in Arenal Costa Rica and is a popular hot springs set in 4.5 acres of gorgeuos tropical gardens. It is a lot less expensive than
Tabacón with 16 different hot springs baths of varying temperature, averaging around 40°C. Baldi Hot Springs has a restaurant, two swim-up bars, spa services, changing facilities and tropical gardens. The pools are spread around the grounds and sculpted with stones and framed by lush plants.
Many types of treatments and massages are available from the spa, which take advantage of the thermal waters, minerals and other volcanic properties. There is a restaurant with an international menu (and relatively high prices) and a bar which serves cheaper snacks of: hamburgers, pizza and fries. On a good night you can sit in a pool, drink in hand, watching the lava flow down the volcano!

3. The Springs Resort Hot Springs: Arenal Volcano Costa Rica
The Springs Resort is the latest addition to the hot springs collection in the Arenal Volcano area. The hotels, hot springs and spa are pure luxury! The resort is perched on a mountain ridge one thousand feet above the Arenal Valles about 6km north of the volcano and has a spectacular view of the Arenal Volcano. The resprt offers natural hot and cold springs, four unique dining experiences and an impressive full service spa.
The Springs has 18 landscaped pools and waterfalls with temperatures ranging from 76˚F to 103˚F. The hot mineral springs contain high bicarbonate and high chlorides with relatively low sulfur content to provide safe and clean bathing.
Las Lagunas (The Lagoons) .... located on an area of two acres of lush landscaping and an assortment of multi-level sun and shade terraces surrounding twelve pools. Four of the pools are fed directly by water pumped from the hot mineral springs and the other eight are chlorinated but heated to various temperatures, 83˚F to 103˚F - the hot springs through a heat exchange system.
Perdido Springs (Lost Springs) ... system of trails and seven spring-fed pools located within a forest canyon. The rainforest trail leading to these springs is has over 150 different species of flowering heliconias. In the center of the pools is a small jungle bar along with a water slide. These pools range in temperature from 76˚F to 98˚F.
The Springs Spa and Fitness Center
Massages (including a unique treatment called the “floating water massage” which is offered in the mineral springs), facials, body wraps, manicuresand pedicures are available in a luxurious and holistic setting .The treatment menu utilizes tropical botanical ingredients indigenous to Costa Rica as well as a variety of therapeutic volcanic clays. The Spa has a common lobby with spectacular views where both male and female guests can enjoy lunch or a relaxing break together between treatments as well as separate Ladies’ and Men’s relaxation areas for added privacy between treatments. The locker rooms are equipped with steam and sauna rooms as well as private shower and changing accommodations. There are also a gym with the latest fitness equipment.

Treetops Grill - Open 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Fresh food from the grill served daily from a restaurant surrounded by five waterfall pools, tree canopies and views. Iinformal dress code applies and bathing attire is not only permitted its suggested! If you don’t want to leave the comfort of your poolside chaise lounge, the menu will be brought to you.
Heliconia Bar - Open 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
The bar has a causal elegance and a magnificent view of the volcano, perfect for a relaxing drink.
La Laguna Bar (The Lagoon Bar) - Open 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM
Swim up bar boasts 12 dry and 30 wet seats located in a pool with multiple waterfalls and heated to a more than comfortable 88˚F. A unique feature of thes bar is the warm curtain of micro-bubbles emanating from its base that creates the sensation of sitting atop a flowing spring.
The Ranchito Bar (The Little Rancho) - Open 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Its higher location allows a great view of the volcano and the other pools and waterfalls. There is also a heated Jacuzzi a few steps away. Perfect location for a cocktail!
Los Perdidos Bar (The Lost Ones)- Open 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Rustic palm thatch jungle bar that seats about eight people surrounded by hot spring waterfalls on three sides and gardens on the other.. This is a great place to watch the adventurous take a ride down the Monkey Slide.
